Today is International Women's Day. A day to celebrate all things female.
It got the brain matter chattering about what it means to me to be woman.
Originally when I set out to write this blog I was going to talk about women who inspired me or made a difference in the world, and there are plenty of them. However when I started to write my mind took a different direction. I started to think about all the shit I, and women ALL over the world, have had to put up with simply because we are women. And here in the UK we are beyond lucky compared to our beauties in other parts of the world.
The catcalling and the being randomly groped. But of course it is probably our fault because we dared wear something that might provoke a man. How about the men keep their dicks in their pants because we should be able to wear what the fuck we want to express who we are. If i want to wear a skirt I shouldn’t have to worry about what that skirt may provoke in a man I should have that choice.
Being called a dirty whore because I don’t want to dance with the letchy prick on the dance floor. Then when you finally tell him to do one he calls you an ugly fat bitch and he wouldn’t go near you anyway!!! That is not what your half erect cock was saying to my leg mate!!
Being spoken to like a complete moron because I have tits.
Being called love or darling in the most condescending tone.
Having to be on high alert every time we are walking alone in the dark or even during the day. Walking with our keys between our knuckles in case someone decides to try to harm us, so we are prepared and ready to fight back. Walking home from a friends in the middle of the road because then it is harder for someone to get you and drag you somewhere!!!
Working 15 times as hard as men to get to the top and then being called aggressive rather than assertive, then when we dare to have a baby, being pushed out of the career we have worked our fucking arses off for.
Being labelled a bitch because we dare have our own opinions that may not align with the majority.
Being branded lazy for being a stay at home mum but not caring about our children if we dare leave them to go back to work - just fuck off
God the list goes on and on like the mansplaining that is so commonplace.
Us ladies live in a world that would be hard to understand for most men. The bullshit we encounter on a daily basis is just the norm in our society.
This is not a blog to bash men by the way. This is me talking about life as a woman from experience and there are also plenty of pros. It is just sad to admit that even though we think we are progressing in our attitude towards women, many of us just do not feel as though that is the case.
The amount of women I know who have been pushed out of their career or been made to take a job way below their pay grade after having kids is beyond ridiculous. Let me explain something from a personal perspective. Before I go to work I get the kids up, diffuse numerous arguments, get them fed, make packed lunches. Then its trying to get them to brush their teeth, not just swill some toothpaste around their gob but ACTALLY brush them!
Phew! Then its getting dressed! Well fuck my life who knew it was so hard to get socks on. Whilst I am dealing with all this shit I also need to get myself ready so I don’t look like I am dressing up for Halloween. Then get them to school making sure they have all the bits they need and cannot remember for themselves because they are children and they need guidance. So once that is taken care off it is time for me to START my work day.
FUCKING START!!!!! I have probably achieved more in that couple of hours than some people achieve in their whole day but I am not worthy of being in charge or running a project or being a boss or ANY of the roles women are pushed out of because now I have created life I am done. Oh and maternity leave is not a fucking holiday bellends!!!

They are fighting, and winning for felixable working for men and women and are doing fantastic things for how we are expected to work. I love her and what she stands for. A positive beacon of light in the gloomy world of grey suits and shiny shoes.
So now that I have had a little rant it is time to get serious!
Being a woman is FUCKING AWESOME.
What makes us so amazing is that despite all the aforementioned bullshit we have to go through we still THRIVE LIKE BADASSES and we are only going to get stronger and stronger.
I love wearing make up and doing my hair. Being as feminine as I want or do not want.
I love getting dressed up in a cute outfit and a pair of heels or slobbing around in my sweats.
I love finding the perfect shade of lipstick and then bloody losing it in one of my coat pockets-but which coat is it in!!!!
I love my tribes and I love how much they love me. Girls and women get a bad rep as being bitchy and wanting to tear each other down. More bullshit to keep us hating on each other. They - the patriarchy know how strong we are when we work together and they are fucking scared - so we are constantly pitted against each other. Just look at Kate and Meghan? Look at any women that work on TV together - always made out to be enemies. How boring.
I love watching women boss the shit out of life and I love being a cheerleader for them.
I love being a badass mum who works part time AND runs my own business like a fucking boss with no man in sight to take the credit.
Do you know what I did? I grew my 2 beautiful boys inside my own body!!! Like how freeking amazing is that. Then I fed them from that same body. Don’t get me wrong the whole starting your period, dealing with that for 40 or so years and then having to go through the menopause does suck cock BUT I’ll take it because my body is beyond amazing.
I am beyond amazing and I am not going to be shamed for thinking so.
Here is to all the women. There are soooooo many that make me proud that it would take me an age to mention them. I see so much strength, courage, kindness and compassion and that is just in my circles.
We really are a force to be reckoned with so watch this space because who is going to run this world? US.
